Ayurvedic drugs
are manufactured from the dried parts of medicinal plants like
roots, stem wood, bark, leaves, flowers seeds, fruits, and whole
plants etc. which form the essential raw materials.
Therapeutically
active drugs are obtained by specialised methods using moderna
nd traditional techniques.

At Dhanwanthari Vaidyasala, we have combination of traditional
and modern methodologies for Ayurvedic medicine preparation. For
example the recommended vessels for fermentation of Arishtasavas
are earthen pots or wooden vats. The natural temperature regulation
in porous vessel is unique and the medicine will be having 24
to 28 degree celcius temperature throughout, ensuring ideal conditions
of the natural fermenting agents. The process vessels are either
brass or copper in specified shapes,. We have adopted the sterilization
of pots, powder, etc: to keep up the hygiene standards. For thermal
processing of decoctions, firewood ensures controlled and continuous
heat. This is essential for adequate drug extraction and to check
the extraction of unwanted alkaloids, Tannins etc: . Though manufacturing
methods are as adhered to specified centuries ago modern technology
is widely used in processing stages like disintegration, pulverisation
and preservation of Kashayam.
